Karima Hirani, MD MPH Board Certified in Family Medicine Integrative Medicine and Nutritionist.
Dr. Hirani has been practicing medicine since 1993. She received her MD from USC Medical School and is Board Certified in Family Practice. She completed her Family Practice Residency from Long Beach Memorial Hospital in Long Beach, California. She also has a Master's degree in Nutrition from the UCLA School of Public Health. Since graduation, Dr. Hirani has been in group and private practice in a diversity of settings ranging from group practice in Santa Monica to the Venice Family Clinic (a community clinic serving the medically indigent). In addition she was a staff physician with Dr. Julian Whitaker at the Whitaker Wellness Institute, and in private practice with Dr. Cynthia Watson.
Unlike most conventional medicine doctors, she does not lump you into a particular disease category (or organ system dysfunction) and then prescribe you a one-size-fits-all prescription drug. Instead, she takes the time to listen to you and review your entire health history. In doing so, she is able to formulate a plan that involves specific testing to search for the underlying causes of your symptoms as well as provide information to recommend a program unique to you. Dr. Hirani is very open to working with your other health care providers. She believes that providing other complementary treatments is both supportive and the wave of the future. In our office you will find an acupuncturist, cranial sacral therapist, lymph drainage therapist, environmental allergist, and a Certified Clinical Nutritionist.
Dr. Hirani is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), the California Academy of Family Physicians (CAFP), the American College for the Advancement in Medicine (ACAM), the American Holistic Medical Association (AHMA), and member of American Academy for Environmental Medicine (AAEM).
Dr. Hirani has kindly consented to work with the children on Autism Spectrum Disorder in India, on a non-profit basis and has shown her willingness to donate the whole amount she receives on individual consultancies, for bearing a part of the expenses on supplements and medications for the economically weaker parents of the Autism community of India.
We, at Autism India Network and ASHA, whole heartedly welcome Dr. Karima Hirani to Bangalore, India.
